Wood Posts : Peeled

    Our Peeled Posts are primarily milled out of Lodgepole Pine logs. They are run through a machine that peels off the bark, the cambium layer, and leaves the sapwood layer on the outside of the pole. The post keeps much of the natural taper of the tree. The diameter of the tip (small end) is a minimum size. For example, when you buy a 5-6"x 10' Peeled Post the tip will measure no less than 5" in diameter and the diameter will thicken to the butt (big end) of the post (rule of thumb 1 inch every 10 feet). The length of the post is a nominal size (in accordance with industry standard); not Precision End Trimmed (PET). Below are the common sizes that we stock:
